Built in the 1860's, the Royal Ettrick hotel was originally the grand town house of a rich Edinburgh barrister. The house was converted into a hotel in the 1940's, extended and now boasting a conservatory and private car park. This traditional hotel offers quality accommodation, value for money and a very warm welcome. With 19 bedrooms, conservatory restaurant (where there is free Wi-Fi Internet access), beer garden, and lounge bar, it strives to offer a home away from home atmosphere. The main hotel has 12 bedrooms, 9 of which are located on the top floor via a winding staircase. Some rooms have sloping ceilings and skylights. The hotel does not have a lift.

Originally built as a bank in 1923, then converted into a hotel and tastefully refurbished in 1998, the hotel's imposing fažade remains an unquestionably impressive landmark on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. The entrance into the hotel is through Logie Bairds Bar, notably live and frequented by locals and visitors alike. The reception is located in the Bank Manager's office at the rear of the Bar where access to the hotel's bedrooms is hidden in the oaked panelled walls. The distinctive bedrooms are on the three floors above the bar in this 'A' listed building which has no lift and is, therefore, unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. For group bookings, advance notice is required. We are also able to recommend the Beluga Canteen Restaurant located on Chambers Street for fine dining and the Conservatory Restaurant at the Royal Ettrick Hotel in Polwarth. Champagne and Flowers can be arranged for that special occasion. There is a night porter on duty through out the night should you require assistance. Logie Bairds Bar is open from 9am each morning until 1am and serves a varied bar menu until late each day.

Tailors Hall Hotel is an ideal location whether staying for business or pleasure. Built in 1621 for the Guild of Tailors, renovated and transformed in 1998 and now offering 42 bedrooms, equivalent of a three star standard. Located in the Cowgate, which is an extension of the Grassmarket, Tailors Hall Hotel is only minutes walk from the Royal Mile. The hotel does not have a car park and therefore recommends the guests use the New Street Car Park on New Street just off the Royal Mile. Hotel guests are offered a discount. The entrance to the hotel and bar is through the cobbled courtyard. In the summer months you can enjoy our beer bar and, weather permitting, BBQ. We occasionally have themed events and outside disco which all guests are invited to join. The Three Sisters Pub is located next to the reception and is open daily from 9am until 1am featuring live DJ's 7 nights a week. Noise from the pub can affect bedrooms overlooking the courtyard. The hotel operates on a bed and breakfast basis only although we are pleased to accept advanced group bookings for lunch or dinner. From Sunday to Thursday leisure visitors, overseas groups and corporate clients occupy the hotel. Stag and Hen parties are very welcome over the weekend when the Three Sisters Pub comes alive with a lively and young crowd. There is a night porter on duty through out the night should you require assistance.
